Since 1986, our
philanthropic arm, the Delta Dental of New Jersey
Foundation, Inc. has worked to promote and assist
educational projects devoted to the enhancement
of dental health, as well as research programs
designed to increase public awareness of the general
benefits of good oral health and to improve dental
health through the science of dentistry. Each year,
the Foundation also provides financial support
to various organizations throughout the state to
reach underserved populations.
Our Foundation
is a 501(c)3 non-profit, charitable organization,
and we pride ourselves on the variety of programs
we have instituted or supported which aid the needy,
educate the community, and assist worthwhile oral
health related organizations. To date, our Foundation
has awarded more than $9.7 million towards dental care for
the underserved, dental education programs, and
dental research. The Foundation funds
projects only in New Jersey and Connecticut.

Oral Health Education Initiative
In an effort to reinforce the importance
of oral health education all school year long,
the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation is offering
a grant opportunity to elementary schools in New
Jersey's Abbott school districts (including
Charter Schools located in Abbott School Districts) to initiate an
Oral Health Education Program in their third-grade
classes for the 2009-2010 school year. At least
three schools,
each from a separate district, will be chosen to
receive up to $5,000 to put towards the program.
