PAUL DI MAIO JOINS DELTA DENTAL OF NEW JERSEY AS SENIOR VP AND GENERAL COUNSEL
PARSIPPANY, N.J.—January 29, 2016—Paul J. Di Maio has joined Delta Dental of New Jersey as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, effective January 4, 2016.
A legal and operational executive, Di Maio brings over 25 years experience in private practice to Delta Dental of New Jersey, including various corporate counsel positions. Most recently, he served as senior counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Samsung Electronics America, Inc. In his new position at Delta Dental, he will succeed Doug Sanborn, who is retiring after over 20 years as General Counsel for the company. During the planned transition, Di Maio will work closely with Sanborn, who will continue to serve as a senior vice president until his retirement in April.

Over the course of his career, Di Maio has worked in corporate governance, securities law, intellectual property, high-stakes litigation, labor and human resources matters. At Samsung Electronics, he led the compliance function, and advised on strategic mergers and acquisitions. He provided counsel on product liability, cyber insurance and risk mitigation, employment law, and negotiated insurance contracts. Di Maio also served as vice president – law for Avaya, Inc., a Fortune 500-spin-off company in Basking Ridge, N.J., and as corporate counsel for Lucent Technologies, Inc. in Warren, N.J.
Di Maio holds a J.D. degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He also has a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Business, from Villanova University.
Di Maio resides in Mendham, N.J.
