Grant Funding Approval Process

• Our Foundation Board of Trustees meets three times a year.
• At the Spring meeting, our Board reviews the preliminary (Round One) S.M.I.L.E. grant applications for the upcoming year. Those applicants that are selected for further consideration are notified they will be moving to the next round (Round Two). Those applicants will be required to complete a more extensive grant application. Those applicants not selected also will be notified. All S.M.I.L.E. Mini Grants are reviewed and approved at the April meeting. All are notified of the outcome.
• At the June meeting, our Board reviews and approves S.M.I.L.E. grants. All are notified of the outcome.
• Grant funding is typically awarded in July.

While many grant applicants are return grantees, the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation encourages organizations and/or schools that have never applied for funding (and meet the Requirements of Grantees), to apply. The Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation is always looking to expand its outreach.
